In June 2004, Seher along
with Delhi Commission of Women celebrated the life time
achievements of the legendry Carnatic Vocalist M. S. Subbulakshmi
and the Govt. of Delhi conferred Delhi’s Life time achievement
award to her along with a cheque of Rs 11 Lakh. The award
was presented by the Chief Minister of Delhi – Smt Sheila
Dikshit. The evening was also marked by a short audio-visual
presentation on the legend by well known photographer,
Avinash Pasricha followed by a Bharatanatyam recital by
Pritadarshani Govind based on MS’s kritis. MS Subbulakshmi
had taken Carnatic music to unprecedented heights and
her renditions had enthralled people for decades-this
tribute was an attempt to recognize her contribution in
the field of Indian music. |
